The annual military reshuffle list involving senior officers of the armed forces has been forwarded to His Majesty the King for royal approval.
Informed sources said that the list was submitted to the Secretariat of the Cabinet Monday to forward to the king’s for approval.
The list saw Gen Nipat Thonglek promoted to the Defense Ministry’s permanent secretary replacing Gen Thanongsak Apirakyothin who will retire end of this month.
In the Royal Thai Army, five key positions were reshuffled. Army chief-of-staff Gen Udomdej Sitabutr is promoted to deputy commander-in-chief of the Army, First Army Region commander Lt-Gen Lt Phaibul Khumchaya and Gen Chatchai Sarikalya are promoted to assistant commander-in-chief, Army deputy chief-of-staff’ Lt-Gen Akra Kerdphol to Army chief-of-staff, and Army deputy chief-of-staff Lt-Gen Thirachai Nakvanich to First Region Army commander.
In the Royal Thai Navy, deputy commander-in-chief Admiral Narong Pipatanasai is promoted to commander-in-chief replacing Admiral Surasak Rounroengrom who retires end of this month.
