Two prisoners escape from flood-hit Phetchaburi prison

A manhunt has been launched after two prisoners escaped on Friday (Nov 24) while Phetchaburi prison was hit by flooding, about 70 centimetres under water, said prison warden Bussaba Ketudom.

Ms Bussaba identified the two as Ekachai Kruakaew, a convict and theft charge, and Tawatchai Maliyaem, a drug convict.

She said the two prisoners took the opportunity while the prison was being flooded to scale over the northern wall and escape.

The prison has issued an announcement, with pictures of the two inmates, for the people who happen to see them to call 191 or 032-425014.
