Nangrong district police in Buriram province have pressed charges of indecent act and taking away an underaged girl from her parents against a school teacher who allegedly assaulting a 14-year school girl since she was 12.
Pol Col Sompob Sangkornthong, the superintendent of Nangrong district police, said Tuesday that the two charges were filed against the male teacher despite the fact that the victim had consented to the accused’s wishes.
The teacher, whose identity was not disclosed, however, denied all the charges during the police interrogation on Tuesdya. He was later released on bail because he won’t jump bail, said the superintendent.
The parents of the victim, on Monday, lodged a complaint with the Buriram justice office, saying that there has been no progress about the case since the accused was arrested at a resort in Nangrong district on February 12.
They also complained that the teacher was still allowed to teach at the school and has not been disciplined.
But the school director defended that an investigation was still pending and, hence, no action has been taken against the teacher in question.
