Three more suspects arrested in maid murder case

Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police have arrested three more suspects for involvement in the burial of a 16-year-old maid, Jariya Kongsak, who was believed to have been killed five years ago by her employer Kritsana Suwanpithak, alias Mona.

The case was brought to light after Jariya’s mother filed a complaint with the Pavena Hongsakula Foundation that her daughter had gone missing after being hired by Ms Kritsana as her maid five years ago.

A CSD investigation led to the exhumtion of Jariya’s body from a home in Phetchaburi province and the arrest of Ms Kritsana, who is accused of beating up the girl to death before taking the body to be buried in Phetchaburi.

With a warrant issued by the Criminal Court, Pol Col Phumin Poompanmuang, commander of the CSD’s Sub-division 5, arrested Pramote Suwanpitak, 43, a younger brother of Ms Kritsana, from a house in Phetchaburi.

Another CSD team led by Pol Maj Pongthak Boonbamrung arrested a daughter of Ms Kritsana from a dormitory in Tambon Pho Rai Wan in Muang district of Phetchaburi, with a warrant issued by the Juvenile and Family Court of Phetchaburi.

The police also arrested a woman, Prathana Thuamsap, with a court warrant, from Phuket province.

The three are suspected to have helped Ms Kritsana to bury the body of Jariya.

They are being investigated at the CSD headquarters.
