Third suspect held in Kim Jong nam’s murder

A third suspect, a man, has been arrested in connection with the murder of Kim Jong-nam, the half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to New Straits Times Online.

Police Inspector-General Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the 26-year old man was arrested on Wednesday. He is the boyfriend of the second female suspect who has an Indonesian passport.

So far, one man and two women have been held by police in connection with the murder.

Indonesian diplomats have met with the woman with Indonesian passport.

In Hanoi, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry deputy spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Tra said Vietnamese authorities are working closely with Malaysia to clarify information relating to a female suspect said to hold a Vietnamese passport bearing the name of Doan Thi Huong.

Malaysian Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Thursday officially confirmed the North Korean man who died at KL international airport on Monday was Kim Jong-nam.

Meanwhile, the Chemistry Department on Thursday received for analysis several samples of a product from police investigating the murder.

The department’s Forensic Division head Dr Cornelia Charito said the samples would be analysed by two divisions and the results would be handed over to the police.
