Thai women volleyball team beaten 3-2 sets by Japan in championship match

Thailand’s women volleyball team was beaten 3-2 sets by Japan in the 19th Asian Senior Women’s Volley Ball Championship in Manila despite the fact that they led the game 2-0 sets.

This was the 4th loss to Japan in a row, including two in the World Grand Prix.

The Thai team lost 1-3 sets to Japan in the second-round match.  The Thai coach, Mr Danai Siwatcharamethakul, told the girls to play defensive game and the result was positive with the team beating Japan with 28-26 scores in the first set.

The Thai team maintained the momentum and won the second set with 25-20 scores, leading 2-0 sets.

However, the Japanese side recovered and played much better in the third set, winning with 25-16 scores.  

Playing in a winner’s style, the Japanese continued its victorious run, winning the fourth and championship sets with 25-16 and 15-7 scores respectively.
