Suthep announces 3-step action plan to oust Thaksin regime

Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban announced a three-step action plan to oust the Thaksin regime once and for all.

Addressing a huge crowd of supporters at Lumpini park on Wednesday night, the People’s Democratic Reform Committee secretary-general said that the first step of the plan was set for May 5 which coincides with Coronation Day when all PDRC  followers were urged to wear yellow shirts and whistles and to gather at Sanam Luang in front of the Grand Palace to express their well wishes and loyalty to His Majesty the King.

The PDRC supporters, he said, will also take a vow to do their best for the good of the country.

The second step will call for the holding of a major merit-making ceremony on May 13to bless the country and to expel all the evils out of the country, said Mr Suthep, adding that the final step was to take place on May 14 when the “great mass of people” will reclaim the sovereign power.

Citing Article 3 of the Constitution which states that sovereign power belong to the peole, Suthep claimed that the people have the right to claim the sovereign power back because, for the time, there is no House of Representatives and no functional government.

He said that the “great mass of people” will set up a people’s council and an interim government which will be tasked with drawing up reform blueprint within 18 months.
