Toon Bodyslam was named Man of the Year and Public Idol for 2017 whereas Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was named the year’s Political Idol, according to the opinion poll conducted by Super Poll on Saturday (Dec 23).
Super Poll research institute surveyed the opinions of 1,116 people of various occupations and professions during December 10-22 of their idols in different fields, ranging from sports, entertainment, to politics.
The poll showed that 53.4 percent of the respondents voted Toon Bodyslam or Artiwara Kongmalai as their Man of the Year and Public Idol for the year 2017; followed by 7.5 percent for wellknown actress Patcharapa “Aum” Chaichua in the same category.
In sports, 26.4 percent voted for national soccer player Chanatip “J” Songkrasin and 22.0 percent for Ratchanok “May” Inthanon.
In politics, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha came top with 54.3 percent for being the idol, followed by Chuwit Kamolvisit’s 27.3 percent and Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva’s 7.9 percent.
“La” (Hunt) of Channel One was voted the most popular TV drama series with 16.8 percent followed by Long Fai of GMM25 Channel, 16.8 percent; Ploeng Phra Nang of Channel 7, 10.9 percent; Ploeng Boon of Channel 3, 9.8 percent; Rak Nakara of Channel 3, 8.7 percent.
The most favoured songs authored by the late HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej are Krai Rung, 41.7 percent; Yam Yen, 24.4 percent and Sai Fon, 9 percent.
