Royal Command names Gen Udomdej the new army strongman

General Udomdej Seetabutr was officially appointed the new army commander-in-chief succeeding General Prayuth Chan-ocha in a Royal Command which was announced Monday night.

Other key appointments include General Worapong Sa-nagnet who was named the new supreme commander; General Sirichai Ditthakul, the defence permanent secretary; Assistant Army C-in-C General Chatchai Sareekalaya, the deputy army C-in-C; Lt-Gen Kampanart Rutdit, the new commander of First Army Region; Lt-Gen Sathit Pitrat,  commander of the Third Army Region; Maj-Gen Thawat, commander of the Second Army Region and Maj-Gen Prakan Chalayut, commander of the Fourth Army Region.

Appointed the new Air Force commander-in-chief is Air Chief Marshal Tritos Sonchaeng, currently the Air Force chief-of-staff.

The new Navy commander-in-chief is Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich, currently the assistant navy commander-in-chief.

Altogether 1,092 senior officers of the three armed forces are reshuffled in the Royal Command.
