Ratchanok in final of Malaysia Masters 2018

World number 5 badminton player Ratchanok Intanon will play World number 1 from Taiwan Tai Tzu Ying in the Malaysia Masters 2018 final in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (Jan 21).

Ratchanok reached the final after beating her Japanese rival, 2nd-ranked Akane Yamaguchi, 2-1 games in the semi-final on Saturday.

Playing with confidence and smashing hits from the back of the court, Ratchanok won the first game 21-15 against Yamaguchi.  But the Japanese player fought back brilliantly and equaled the match with 21-16 win over Ratchanok.

The third and final game saw both players winning and losing games until the score reached 19-19.

However, Ratchanok prevailed and won the third game 21-19, earning the ticket into the final tomorrow night to the meet the World number 1 from Taiwan Tai Tzu Ying who beat Carolina Marin in another semi-final match.
