Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok today warned rubber protester to keep off the Surat Thani airport saying any intrusion to the area could face police action.
He said that the government intended on its lenient approach to convince protesters not to break the law and ease the tension.
But if the protesters broke into the airport area, then they would be dealt with by law enforcement officials, he said. He assured until now it was still normal and there is no need to enforce the national security law.
Pol Gen Pracha also said that the government representative is now in the South to talk to farmers in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Surat Thani.
As for the scheduled meeting in Bangkok’s Chaengwattan government center with farmer representatives, he said that the meeting was intended on clarifying the situation and assured the farmer representatives that they would not be put under arrest when they came here for talk. The talk will be led by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat na Ranong.
Earlier protest leaders were concerned if they would be arrested if they arrive in Bangkok for talk as some still have warrants for their arrests.
