The meeting took place at the auditorium of Wang Kaew hotel in Muang district of Phitsanulok and chaired by the governor on Wednesday (Sept 13).

Samran Khanthong, 56, chief of the local development and promotion group of the Office of Local Administration Promotion, gave a briefing to the governor about garbage and waste management.

After the briefing, Mr Samran returned to his desk, but fainted shortly afterward, causing a commotion among the participants.  Among the audiences were some rescue workers who immediately administered CPR on the patient for about 10 minutes before the arrival of an ambulance from Prasartboonsathan Foundation to rush him to Somdet Phra Naresuan hospital.

But Samran died on the way to the hospital.

It was reported afterward that Samran suffered from high blood pressure and had to take medication on daily basis.  However, an autopsy will be taken to determine the actual cause of his death.
