Pheu Thai : City Hall’s youth centre project in Min Buri is a waste

A former Pheu Thai MP has voiced his objection to the City Hall’s plan to build a youth centre at the King Rama IX memorial park in Min Buri.

Mr Vicharn Minchaiyan claimed today (Friday) that he was responsible for the creation of the park and the request to the Bureau of the Royal Household for the park’s name with the consent of the residents in Min Buri.

However, he said that Bangkok Metropolitan Administration had contracted a company to build the youth centre of which piling has already started without public consent. The project was estimated to cost about 85 million baht.

Also, he claimed that the Fine Arts Department had objected to the City Hall’s project as inappropriate.

Mr Vicharn said he was afraid that the project would be a waste and the Treasury Department has warned the City Hall that the project may infringe on other laws.
