NSC chief Lt-Gen Paradorn Pattanatabut assured that the rubber protest tension in the South will ease soon after protesters hear of the remedy package proposed to the cabinet for approval today.
He said that after cabinet endorsement, the deputy prime minister Kittirat na Ranong would lead a team to negotiate with the protesters’ representatives in Bangkok tomorrow with the offered packages which he said with confidence would be positively responded by protesters.
Meanwhile Deputy Commerce Minister Nuttawut Saikua revealed that the talk between government representatives and protester representatives in Nakhon Si Thammarat ended satisfactorily.
He claimed farmer representatives were happy with the remedy packages.
But he said that the cabinet would endorse these packages today and afterwards two-side meeting would be called again today and tomorrow for final conclusion.
He said he was not worried upon hearing latest ultimatum by the protesting farmers to upgrade the rally into nationwide rally to pressure the government.
