Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has insisted the ban on political parties will not yet be lifted.
Responding to calls from political parties for the political ban to be lifted, Gen Prawit, who is in charge of security affairs, said on Monday (Oct 30) that the government and the NCPO have not yet had a plan to consider this matter.
He said the government and the NCPO still need to carefully take the current situation into consideration as there are still some groups of people moving to disrupt peace and order.
Although Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha had sent a signal that there would be political unlocking after the royal cremation, he still has to reconsider the matter, said Gen Prawit.
The deputy prime minister also said the government and the NCPO have not yet thought about reshuffling the cabinet. The matter is for the prime minister to decide.
Gen Prawit added that security work is already efficient.
