NHSO voted new secretary-general

Dr Sakchai Kanchanawattana has been voted the new secretary-general of the National Health Security Office (NHSO).

Currently deputy secretary-general of NHSO, Dr Sakchai is among three candidates who have passed the selection process. The other two candidates are Dr Witthaya Tansurannont and Dr Songpol Chavaltanpipat, also deputy secretar-general of NHSO, director Ratchaburi provincial hospital.

The three qualified candidates individually presented their visions before the board on Monday after which the board considered their presentations before they voted.

The board chairman, Public Health Minister Piyasakol Sakolsattayathorn said 29 of the 30 board members casted their votes. Mr Patchara Anansilp, representative of the Finance Ministry, did not vote because he left earlier to attend to other business.

Dr Sakchai bagged 16 votes followed by Dr Songpol’s 13 votes. Dr Witthaya received no vote.
