San Sarakornborirak, who was named a national artist in the field of visual arts (painting) in 2004, died on Friday (Nov 24) at 5am of lung infection at Wiset Chaichan Hospital in Ang Thong province. He was 83.
Pimravee Watthanavarangkul, director general of the Cultural Promotion Department, said the bathing rite for the late national artist would be held on Nov 24 at 5pm.
She said an evening prayer is being held daily at Sala 6 of Wat Phrasrimahathatvoramahaviharn in Bang Khen district on Nov 24-30, at 6.30pm.
San was born on Aug 23, 1934 in Bangkok.
He was a former assistant professor, Faculty of Painting, Sculture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University.
He was named a national artists in the field of visual arts (painting) in 2004.
