Motorcycle attacker hurls hand grenade at governor’s home

The police are now hunting for two motorcyclists who were seen in a video footage hurling a hand grenade into Suan Pakkad Palace, home of the Bangkok governor M.L. Sukhumbhand Paribatra last night.

The video footage showed the pillion rider in a jacket dismounting from the motorcycle and then hurled the grenade from outside sidewalk to the home. He then jumped on to a waiting motorcycle and escaped towards Phayathai intersection.

The bomb attack happened at about 10.20 p.m. last night.

National Police Office deputy commissioner Pol Gen Ake Angsananond said the grenade was the same type which was used to attack Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva on Soi Sukhumvit 31 on Tuesday night.

The advisory team of the Bangkok governor said that the video footage will be released to the media and shown on the public today.
