Mario and taxi driver fined 1,000 baht each for traffic quarrel

Phaya Thai police said on Wednesday (Jan 10) they had fined actor Mario Maurer 1,000 baht for reckless driving following traffic quarrel with a taxi driver on Bangkok’s Pratunman area on Monday.

Phaya Thai police superintendent Pol Col Nitiwat Sansing said the actor came to pay the fine last night after he was summoned to pay the traffic ticket for reckless driving.

The officer said the taxi driver Udon Suthising was also fined 1,000 baht on the same traffic offence.

He said the police fined them both to remind them not to commit the offence again.

He said in addition to the fine, the taxi driver also has his driving licence suspended for 30 days, and to take a three-day behavioural training course.

He faced assault and property damaging charges.

The two had a traffic quarrel when the actor cut off his way while driving on New Phetburi road.

The taxi driver pulled a slingshot and fired at the rival’s through the side windshield.

The shot smashed his car left windshield and the right windshield of the actor’s Porsche Carrera 2 sports car.
