A manhunt has been launched for four men who allegedly shot dead three people in a house in Thung Yang Daeng district of Pattani province Wednesday night.
Four men, riding in two motorcycles, stopped in front of house No 140 in Ban Buenaeyamoo, Tambon Namdum, at about 7 pm and they shot to death three people inside the house.
The three victims were later identified by police as Mr Yusor Neelae, 73, Mr Nasaree Jeh-ngae, 32, and Ms Hasana Hama, 29.
Pol Maj-Gen Piyawat Chalermsri, commander of Pattani provincial police, said that police still could not determine the motives of the murder. He, however, added that forensic officials would collect DNA samples at the crime scene which would help police in identifying all or some of the perpetrators.
Forensic police have found four 9mm spent shells in the house.
An informed police said Mr Yusor had lost one of his sons, a defence volunteer, who was shot dead some time ago.
