Manhunt lauched for an ex-policeman for the murder of a Bua Yai district businessman

A manhunt has been launched for a former police non-commissioned officer in Bua Yai district of Nakhon Ratchasima for allegedly killing a district businessman on January 10.

Pol Col Kamrob Boonsod, superintendent of Bua Yai district police said that police had enough evidence to implicate for Pol Sgt-Maj Poonsak Boonruang who was already dismissed from service for the murder of Mr Veerachai Lor-ariyathanachote, a businessman of Bua Yai district on January 10.

Veerachai, alias Sia Kim, was shot dead while he was driving on a bypass road for home on the night of January 10.

Pol Col Kamrob said footages from CCTV system at the scene of the shooting and surrounding areas pointed to Poonsak as the prime suspect. He added that the former policeman was engaged in a conflict with the victim for quite a long time.

With the evidence, he said police sought an arrest warrant from Bua Yai provincial court and the request was granted.
However, latest police report said the suspect had already escaped to a neighbouring country for hiding.
