Man injured in car plunge in Khlong Toey

The driver of an Isuzu Mu-7 was seriously injured after his vehicle plunged from the 4th floor of the car park of a building in Soi Phai Singto on Rama IV road on Saturday morning (Nov 11).

Anukul Wannasuk, 62, the driver, was admitted to Theptarin Hospital.

Rescue workers said Mr Anukul was hurt in his eyes and there were bruises all over his body from the impact.

On the way to the hospital, Mr Anukul, who was still able to speak, said when he started the vehicle’s engine for normal checks, the SUV suddenly moved forward and plunged downward while he was still inside it, said the rescue workers.

From an initial check, the SUV’s automatic gear was at the D position.

An eyewitness said he heard a loud noise and saw the vehicle falling from the 4th floor of the car park building.
