Lao dam disaster donations top 25 million baht

Cash donations made by the people through a government bank account to help Lao people affected by the collapse of a saddle dam of the Xe Pian-Xe Namnoy hydropower project in Attapeu porovince has now topped 25 million baht, Prime Minister’s Office deputy permanent secretary Sompas Nilphan said today.

Mr Sompas said as of 12 pm, the total amount of donations made through account number 067-12886-4 of Krungthai Bank, Government House branch, was over 25 million baht.

Apart from making donations in cash, people in Bangkok can also donate relief materials, such as clothes and dried foods at Government House everyday from 8.30am-4pm.

He said the clothes should be new and the dried foods should not have expired.
