Landslides force northeast train 30-80 minutes delay

The State Railway of Thailand announced today that its northeastern railway service from Bangkok to Nong Khai will delay 30-80 minutes when a landslide hit its track last night.

The incident happened on the rail line between Kok Klee station in Si Kiew district of Nakhon Ratchasima and Chong Samran station in Thep Sathit district of Chaiyaphum.

It said the landslide from a hill in the area brought down  huge rocks and mass of earth to bury its track at 9 p.m. last night,

Workers are now repairing the track and expected to make it back to normal late today.

The SRT said that the incident forced it to reroute four express  trains No  69,122, 70 and 134 to and from Bangkok to Nong Khai   to avoid the damaged route.

The rerouting of the trains will result in delay at least  30-80 minutes  of its arrivals to destinations.
