King signs new Constitution

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn affixed his signature on the new constitution, Thailand’s 20th, at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall on Thursday afternoon.

The constitution was then given to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha to be stamped with a Royal seal and then put on a gold tray on a pedestal.

The ceremony for the proclamation of the new constitution was witnessed by members of the Royal Family, privy councilors, cabinet members, members of the National Legislative Assembly, members of the Constitution Drafting Committee, members of the diplomatic corp, presidents of the Supreme Court and independent organizations.
