ISOC urge public to condemn bombers in Yala

The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) urged all sectors of the society to join the government in condemning the perpetrators of a motorcycle bombing incident at the Pimonchai Market or Railway Market in Yala’s municipal are this morning, killing three innocent civilians and injuring 18 others, most of them women on morning shopping for fresh food and vegetables.

Colonel Pramote Prom-in, spokesman of the Isoc’s forward command, also offered condolence on behalf of the government and the Thai people to the families and relatives of the bombing victims.

He said that Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan who is in charge of security affairs had instructed Lt-Gen Piyawat Narkvanich, commander of the 4th Army Region to quickly arrange for help to the dead and injured victims and to hunt down the perpetrators.

Security officials had checked the footages of all CCTV system at the scene of explosion, in and around the market to find out any individuals under suspicion of being the perpetrators, said Colonel Pramote, adding that security officials had some clues about them.

Noting that Yala’s municipal area had been without violent incidents for several years until today, he said that the motorcycle bomb attack in the crowded market clearly showed that the perpetrators have not abandoned their efforts to harm innocent people and to destroy properties.

He called upon people in the province and elsewhere in the restive Deep South to help security forces by being “eyes and ears” to report any suspicious activity or suspicious individuals to the authorities.
