Ill-fated Airbus moved to hangar for repairs

Thai Airways International has successfully moved the ill-fated Airbus 330-300 out of the spot where it got stuck after skidding out of the runway since Sunday night.

The plane underwent a cleanup to remove dirt and mud from wheels and body after which it would bet towed to THAI’s hangar at the Suvarnbhumi airport for maintenance.

The successful relocation of the aircraft has made it possible for airport officials to examine the runway which has been closed to all traffic since the accident took place on Sunday night.

About 20 passengers were slightly injured during the evacuation.

The opening of the runway has been rescheduled to midnight tonight.
