Hunting for Pattani bombers ordered

The commissioner of the Royal Thai Police has ordered the police in the South to hunt down the culprits responsible for a series of bomb explosions in Pattani injuring a dozen people on Sunday night.

RTP spokesman Pol Col Krissana Pattanacharoen said Pol Gen Chaktip Chaijinda ordered the hunt of the culprits after four explosions rocked Yaring, and Yarang districts injuring nine people.

Police also detonated and destroyed three bombs in Saiburi district.

The commissioner expressed concern over the safety of the people and ordered they be hunted down as soon as possible to regain confidence of security in the areas, he said.

He said forensic police and security authorities have checked all CCTV cameras to find the bombers who they were denounced for intent on the lives of innocent people.

From video footages, security authorities found that the culprits used bicycles to transport small bombs into the areas to avoid checks by authorities.

A bomb victim Mrs Sulranee Phetwilai, owner of a miscellaneous store damaged by a bomb explosion, said her store fell victim to a bomb explosion in 2016 that left her almost penniless.

She said she just finished repairing the store three months ago on loans, and was again hit by the bomb last night.

She said she was really live in fear and would like authorities to drastically enforce the law on the culprits.
