Police raided a compound for rent in the resort town of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces on receiving complains that it had been opened for “drug parties” on Halloween night (Oct 31).
The compound — called Happiness Home in Samo Phrong village in the Hua Hin Municipality — comprises two houses. The first house has four rooms and the second has three. Each house has a swimming pool.
A team of police and defence volunteers arrived in the compound for a search. They found that the parties were being held by the pool sides.
At the first house, the authorities rounded up 24 teenagers. Of them, 17 were tested positive for drugs – seven for methamphetamine, eight for ketamine and two for both methamphetamine and ketamine.
At the second house, 17 teenagers also underwent drug tests. Eleven were tested positive for drugs – four for methamphetamine and seven for marijuana.
In the search, the police found some ketamine wrapped in two 100-baht notes and one 20-baht note. Some dried marijuana was also found in the premises.
The teenagers tested positive for drugs were sent to Hua Hin Hospital for examination. Police said legal action would be taken against them according to the law.
