Duterte is the most trusted official in the Philippines: Pulse Asia survey

Eight out of ten Filipinos said they trust President Rodrigo Duterte and are satisfied with his performance whereas Supreme Court chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno received the lowest approval and trust ratings survey conducted by Pulse Asia, The Manila Times Online reported on Tuesday.

The survey which was taken in December showed Duterte received overall approval rating of 80 percent and trust rating at 82 percent while Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo got 50 percent approval rating and 58 percent trust rating.

Senate president Aquilino Pimentel 3rd got 57 percent and 53 percent of approval and trust ratings respectively and Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez received 42 percent and 37 percent of approval and trust ratings.

Pulse Asia noted that Supreme Court chief justice Sereno got the highest disapproval and distrust ratings and 26 percent and 33 respectively whereas Duterte’s disapproval and distrust ratings were the lowest at 7 percent and 6 respectively.

The president secured the highest trust rating in Mindanao with 94 percent followed by Visayas, 86 percent; Manila, 70 percent; and Luzon, 74 percent.

Palace spokesman Harry Roque said that the latest survey result showed that the Filipino people were aware of and recognized the significant strides that Duterte undertook in his one year and a half month in the office.
