Deadline to pay respect to the late King extended to October 5

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has agreed to extend the period for members of the public to pay their last respect to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Grand Palace until October 5 instead of September 30.

The Bureau of the Royal Household announced on Tuesday night that the decision to extend the deadline from September 30 to October 5 because there are still many people who wish to pay their last respect to the late King and do not have the opportunity to do so.

HM the King have realized the people’s affection, loyalty and faith in the late King and many of them have wanted to pay their respect for the late King once in their lives and the King is concerned that many of them may not have the chance to do so within the September 30 deadline, said the Bureau of Royal Household.

So the King agreed to extend the deadline until midnight of October 5, said the bureau.
