Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra on Thursday presided over a ceremony to open a new temporary road running parallel to Klong Bangkhen which will help ease traffic on Vibhavadi Rangsit and Pahonyothin roads.

In his address to participants at the ceremony, the governor said that the city administration has several projects aimed to ease traffic in Bangkok and Thonburi with some of the projects already completed and others still under construction.

He cited the Pahonyothin-Rattanakosinsompoj road linking Vibhavadi Rangsit with Pahonyothin or Soi Pahonyothin 49/1 which was open to traffic on December 23, last year.

He said that the Klong Bangkhen road will provide another alternative to motorists travelling between Vibhavadi Rangsit and Pahonyothin roads which will help ease traffic on Ngamwongwan, Wongwien Bangkhen, Kaset intersection and areas surrounding Ngamwongwan road, Vibhavadi Rangsit, Pahonyothin and Chaengwattana roads.

The Klong Bangkhen temporary road is a two-lane asphalted road, about two kilometers long and 8 metres wide.
