A pilot and his assistant were injured when a two-seater training aircraft in which they were flying crashed into a tapioca plantation somewhere between Muang and Pone Sawan districts of Nakhon Phanom before noon today (Wednesday).

The two airmen whose identities were unknown were later rushed to Nakhon Phanom provincial hospital.

The training plane belong to the international aviation college of Nakhom Phanom University.

Police said that the cause of the plane crash remains unknown as experts from the international aviation college are yet to arrive to inspect the crash site and to conduct an investigation.
