The notice was given by the Fisheries Department so that they will prepare themselves to meet the international standards
Director-general Wimol Jantrarotai of the Fisheries Department said commercial fishing operators who wish to do their business in these years have to apply for a licence between March 1 and March 15.
An operator who has no fishing license will not be permitted to fish in the country’s territorial water in the upcoming fishing season, which starts on April 1, he said.
According to the department, application can be made at the department, the Fisheries Office in Bangkok, concerned district administrative office and the fisheries centres in coastal provinces.
Applicants’ information will be registered in the e-license system and they will be completely examined before March 18.
The department will announce application results within March 27.
He said the fishing licence will be valid for 2 years.
