The state-owned Transport Company has agreed to slash its bus fares for all routes by one satang per kilometer effective as of February 15.

Transport Company’s deputy managing director Mr Nopparat Karoonyavanich said today (Friday) that the fare reduction was in line with the Land Transport Committee’s resolution for public bus fares to reflect actual fuel costs which have steadily dropped.

The fares adjustment will bring down the first-class air-conditioned bus fares between Bangkok and Chiang Mai to 759 baht from 778 baht, Bangkok-Phuket route from 938 baht to 913 baht.

Any passengers who made advance bookings before the announcement of fare cut contact the ticket counters of the company for refund of the differentials.
