The  National Council for Peace and Order today warned coup protesters that they will face drastic legal action if the continue to hold protests against the NCPO.

The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives began paying farmers who sold rice to the previous Yingluck government but have not yet received money.

The first payment to farmers was held at Banglen district of Nakhon Pathom procince, and witnessed by Army officers.

The bank has set aside 40 billion baht to pay farmers.

The Seismology Office of Thailand Meteorology Department reported a 3.9 magnitude quake in Mae Lao district of Chiang Rai province at 01.55 a.m. Monday. The quake was slightly felt by residents in Chiang Rai.

An interim prime minister, an appointed assembly and a reform council will be established once General Prayuth Chan-ocha is officially named head of the National Council for Peace and Order by virtue of a Royal Command expected on Monday, said Lt-Gen Panuwatchara Narkwong, asisistant chief-of-staff of the army.

Former deputy prime minister and a key member of Pheu Thai party Pol Gen Pracha Promnok was detained at Suvarnabhumi international airport Saturday afternoon.  He was then escorted to an undisclosed army barrack where he was held in custody.

The military junta head, Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha Saturday night ordered all financial institutions, securities companies,  insurance firms, money exchange companies, financial  cooperatives to halt all financial  transactions, share and money transfers of former interior minister Charupong Ruangsuwan and education minister Jaturon Chaisaeng instantly.

No reason was given but earlier in the day soldiers confiscated illegal logs, wildlife and  cache of arms in the resort home of Charupong’s son and were investigating if the weapon were involved with violence in the capital.
Both Charupong and Jaturon defied order of the military junta to report yesterday.

Army Commander-in-Chief and head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha issued the latest announcement Saturday night dissolving the Senate and transferring  all power relating to endorsement by the Parliament to the head of the NPOMC.

Southern militants triggered bombs at more than 10 locations in Pattani Saturday night causing heavy damages to civilian property.

  Number of casualties from explosions , mostly at petrol stations and convenience stores, were not yet known.
The explosions blacked out almost the whole insurgency plagued town.
