DTAC founder Boonchai Bencharongkul is expected to be invited for questioning by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) regarding a hill-top mansion in Phang-nga province which was alleged to have encroached on national forest reserve.
DSI chief Pol Col Paisit Wongmuang said Tuesday that the alleged encroachment case would be accepted as a special case, making it to come under the jurisdiction of the DSI.
DSI officials, police and military personnel as well as forestry officials last week raided the luxurious mansion which is equipped with two swimming pools located on the hilltop in Kuan Toh La national forest reserve in Takua Thung district of Phang-nga.
The DSI chief said officials had received complaints from local villagers of widespread encroachment of Kuan Toh La national forest reserve allegedly by local influential figures and businessman.
He disclosed that initial investigation showed that there are three more land plots covering several hundred rai of land in the forest reserve encroached allegedly by influential figures.
