Boat service controls in Chao Phraya river and some klongs on Oct 6, 9,17

The Harbour Department has imposed navigational controls on vessels operating in the Chao Phraya river, Klong Mon, Klong Bangkok Noi and Klong Bangkok Yai on October 6, 9 and 17 during which activities related to the Royal cremation ceremony are to be held.

Areas to be affected include Chao Phraya river between Pinklao and King Rama I bridges, Klong Bangkok Noi between Arun-amarin bridge and the mouth of Klong Bangkok Noi, Klong Mon between the water gate and mouth of Klong Mon and Klong Bangkok Yai between water gate and mouth of Klong Bangkok Yai.

Ban on boat services in the affected areas on October 6 and 9 are as follows:  10 am-3 pm for sea-going ships, freighters or barges; 11.30 am-2 pm for other vessels are permitted; 11.30 am-2 pm for ferry boat service between Wang Lang and Prachan piers, Wang Lang and Tha Chang piers, Wat Rakang and Tha Chang piers, Wat Arun and Tha Tien piers and Asadang and Wat Kalaya piers.

Navigational ban on October 17 during the following hours: 11 am-8 pm for sea-going ships, freighters and barges; 12.30 pm-7 pm for other vessels and 12.30 pm-7 pm for ferry boat service between Tha Wang Lang and Tha Prachan Nua, Tha Wang Lang and Tha Chang, Tha Wat Rakang and Tha Chang, Tha Wat Arun and Tha Tien and Tha Asadang and Tha Wat Kalaya.

On October 17, a Royal Kathin ceremony is to be held at Wat Arun.  A rehearsal of Royal barge ceremony is to be held on October 6 and 9.
