BMA to seek help from motorcycle taxis to clamp down on sidewalk riding

The city administration will seek cooperation from motorcycle taxis in Bangkok to help it clamp down on motorcycle riding on sidewalks.

Deputy governor of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Pol Lt Gen Amnuay Nimmano said the call was raised following survey of sidewalk traffic showed most violators are motorcycle taxis.

Therefore the city administration would seek their cooperation to help clamping down the illegal riding of motorcycles, he said.

He said instruction has been sent out to the city’s 50 districts to seek help from motorcycle taxis.

There were asked to take pictures of violators, particularly license plate number of motorcycles and sent the to the BMA.
