Bangkok Shutdown affects 135 banks

The Bank of Thailand today reported that a total of 135 bank branches are affected by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee’s Bangkok Shutdown protests.

The central bank said that the shutdown protest entered the second day today with commercial and state bank branches in affected areas announcing full-day closure and closure ahead of normal business hours.

It said 36 branches announced full day closure while 99 others closing ahead of the normal business hours.

Announcing the whole day closure are Bangkok Bank (3), Krungthai (17), Ayuthaya (2), Kasikorn (2),  Siam Commercial (5), Thai Military (4), UOB (1), and Thanachart (2)

Closing ahead of business hours are Ayuthaya (5), Thai Military (72),  UOB (2) Tisco (2), and CIMB (10).
