The chief of Pattani’s Thung Yang Daeng district police who was accused by his subordinates of intimidating and insulting them has responded in kind, accusing them of dereliction of duty and lack of discipline.
After taking a break from active duty following a complaint filed against him to the provincial police commander and commander of the Fourth Army Region, Pol Col Aekpruek Liangsuk posted a clarification through Line app.
In the message sent to a police group in the Line app, he wrote that the 20 plus officers who complained against him were disciplined by him for skipping their work with some of them used police vehicles without authorization and two of them are facing dismissal for being absent from work more than 15 days.
Pol Col Aekpruek also accused some of them of being addicted to illicit drugs or trafficking in illicit drugs.
Regarding the way he talked to his subordinates, Pol Col Aekpruek said it was simply his habit to speak loudly.
The provincial police commander, Pol Maj-Gen Piyawat Chalermsri, said a probe panel would be set up quickly to look into the case as he promised fairness to both parties in the conflict.
Situation at Thung Yang Daeng police station remains normal with the officers who made accusations against their superior still report to work as usual while others have taken temporary leave.
