89-second vigil held for late King Rama IX

A large number of people gathered in front of Siriraj Hospital on Friday afternoon (Oct 13) and held an 89-second vigil to mark one year of the passing of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The 89-second vigil began at 3.52pm.  It was held at an opening in front of the statue of Prince Mahidol.

Meanwhile, at the Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives (BiA) or ‘Suan Mokkh Bangkok’, a number of people also meditated for the late King in a pledge to take his advice as a guideline for leading their life.

In remembrance of the late King, they turned sorrow into power to perform good deeds.
