The Mekong Riverine Unit seized a total of 610 bars of dried marijuana, weighing 610 kilogrammes, hidden in a boat on the bank of the Mekong River in Tha Uthen district on Sunday night (Dec 10) but nobody was arrested.
This was announced at a press briefing on Monday morning by Somchai Witdamrong, the Nakhon Phanom governor, and Pol Maj Gen Suwichan Yankittikul, the provincial police chief.

The patrol spotted a boat on the river bank near where the Song Khram River runs into the Mekong, but the boat operator fled before the patrol members reached the boat for a search.
A total of 610 bars of dried marijuana, totalling 610kg, were found in the boat.
