Over 4 million expected to register as low income earners in new round of registration next month

The new round of registration for state welfare next month will see more of than four million low-income earners registering, Government Savings Bank president and CEO Chatchai Payuhanaveechai said.

The new round of registration will begin April 3-May 15.

He also said all low-income earners are required to register for Prompt Pay service as welfare payment will be paid into their bank accounts.

He said it is now compulsory for new applicants for the government’s welfare benefits beginning with those who will be registering their status between April 3 and May 15.

Each recipient of the state welfare will receive 1,500-3,000 baht.

So far 8 million people have registered themselves as low-income earners.
